Lunar Abundance: Cultivating More Joy, Peace and Purpose with guest Dr. Ezzie Spencer

Lunar Abundance: Cultivating More Joy, Peace and Purpose with Dr. Ezzie Spencer

In this episode, I’m delighted to be joined by Dr. Ezzie Spencer, author of “Lunar Abundance” and the “Lunar Abundance Journal.” After first hearing her interview with Jess Lively in 2017, I was deeply inspired by her story. Ezzie started out as a lawyer in Australia, and also holds a Ph.D in emotional well being. Starting in childhood, Ezzie found herself drawn to the moon and its phases in cycles, and found herself returning to its magic and cycles as she looked for ways to cope with the stress of life as a lawyer. I’m so excited to share this discussion on Lunar Abundance: Cultivating Joy, Peace, and Purpose Using the Phases of the Moon with Dr. Ezzie Spencer.

What she found was that there are natural phases and cycles to life that match and mirror the phases and cycles of the moon. By recognizing that our days, moods, and natural daily cycles have phases of either Yin energy (or calming / “being” energy) or Yang energy (or productive / “doing” energy) we start to find ways to tap into the natural flow of these patterns.

Lunar Abundance

What I love and truly enjoyed about Ezzie’s work in “Lundar Abundance,” is that she outlines how we can, and should, take inspiration from the natural balanced phases of productivity and rest that are present in nature. With society is setting what is undoubtedly a predominantly Yang energy for all of us, one that is praises hustle and work and accomplishments, I found it to be a breath of fresh air to learn of a different way of approaching work and life.

It’s a treat to have her on the show this week to talk about her work on Lunar Abundance, and her work with re.love, where she works with women who have experienced toxic relationships.

In this episode, Dr. Ezzie Spencer and I talk about:
-Her early sparks of joy in watching the moon
-Working as a lawyer, and finding herself at the brink of burn out
-Returning to the inspiration of the moon and its cycles and phases
-How to take inspiration from the lunar phases and cycles as a way to pace our own lives
-Re.love, and her work with women who have experienced toxic relationships
-How to jump start your joy: set an intention to be joyful, meditation, asking what is the one thing you’re grateful for, right now?

You can find joy, peace, and purpose by using the moon and it's phases as an example of how to have both "doing" and "being" time for yourself. Listen to this great interview with Dr. Ezzie Spencer, author of Lunar Abundance to find out how.
