Over the last two weeks, we’ve been busy. And without any internet or cable. We’ve packed up all of our belongings and moved across the bay to a sweet little home that is all ours.
Finally! It has been a long time coming, but we have made it. We’ve achieved our dream of moving into a house that we can turn into a home. This is where our future is going to be. I for one can’t wait. But just like many others who have made the decision to move house, we still have a lot of things left to do. All of our belongings are still currently stacked up in cardboard boxes scattered over the house, so they need unpacking. Most of the appliances look old, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they will need updating soon. So, to cover our backs, I’m thinking about taking my friends advice and looking for a home warranty plan, similar to that from https://homewarranty.firstam.com/homeowner/home-warranty/indiana so we won’t have to spend that much money if they decide to break on us. She did it for her appliances and it has worked in her favour because her washing machine has malfunctioned plenty of times. That is why I think I should do it too. We also need insurance, as well as taking the time to completely renovate our home from head to toe. And we found the perfect place to start…
We ripped up carpet to discover pretty hardwood floors:
Now we’re unpacking boxes, dreaming of relandscaping the yard, of new colorful rugs on the hardwood floors, and marveling at how the previous family lived without any towel racks. Don’t get me started on towel racks. How can people live without them? What do they do with their towels? It doesn’t even bear thinking about because it’s just making me angry. So, to make a point, we will be unpacking our racks first. Or, maybe we should take the time to buy new ones. This is our home after all, so it needs to feel that way.
Once we’ve settled in, I’m going to make it my mission to renovate a large part of the house. We will be replacing or updating most things. Thankfully, I’ve already found a great replacement window company like MWT Windows who can kit us out with the fanciest windows on the market. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the windows that the house has now, but I just fancy a change. When the windows have been done, we can move onto the doors and siding. As you can see, we’re mainly focusing on making the exterior look more appealing. The interior, on the other hand, can be done in our own time. I just can’t wait to get started.
So, I’m going to leave you now and get my towel racks out of the many cardboard boxes we have scattered around the house. Come back for more updates soon!
