Laura Li on being Quietly Bohemian

Laura Li on being Quietly Bohemian

This week on the show, I am so honored to have transformational life coach Laura Li joining me. She is the podcaster behind Quietly Bohemian, where she takes a look at the “inside out” understanding of who you are and what your life is about. Laura also was a student in my Jump Start Your Podcast class, and it was such a delight to see her show going live, and see it out in the world.

One of the things that I love so much about this conversation with Laura was that she shares about her experiences as an introvert and a highly sensitive person (HSP) in the world. Part of the work that she does as a coach is to support those who are introverted, HSP, feel like they don’t fit in, or who question who they are “supposed” to be. We talk a lot about being an introvert in an extroverted world and how there is so much messaging in a world that seemingly values extroversion.

Instead of buying into the messaging that society values extroversion, Laura helps her clients approach situations from the inside out. In her podcast (Quietly Bohemian), she takes a look at what it means to be an introvert, navigating the need for quiet, and she does all of this while also looking at the deep introspective nature Depeche Mode song titles and lyrics. It was so much fun getting to talk to her about the impact that Martin Gore and his lyrics have had on her life. And, it was refreshing to be able to speak about how transformational music can be: the magic of the lyrics can convey a deeper understanding of your life, and the way the world works, while connecting you to the larger themes of what it means to be human.

I also want to honor Laura because she took a giant leap in being an introvert and a highly sensitive person in starting a podcast and to say thank you so much for taking my class and saying yes to the story that you knew you had to tell the world.
